Careers

The pyramid is upside down here

Members sit at the top, and every role in this organisation exists to serve the layer above it toward them. That includes the person you report to.

Why here

What is actually different about this job

Three things you can check on your first week, not three things we hope you feel.

  • A Family, not a shift roster

You work in a Family of roughly five to seven people anchored to a few members. You learn how they take their coffee, what a good day looks like, and when something is off. That consistency is designed in, not left to the roster.

  • A village around you

Our villages are apartment communities where every member has their own front door. You are never the only person there. The Family knows a member best, and the village is always there.

  • A Lead whose job is your success

We say Lead, not Manager, because you lead by serving. Your Lead exists to make you successful, and they will tell you that themselves on your first day.

The work itself

Relationships, not shift coverage

A lot of support work is arranged around filling shifts. Ours is arranged around a few members and the small team who know them. You see progress because you are there often enough to see it.

Our Vertical Villages are apartment communities. Members have their own homes, their own front doors and their own choices, and they choose how much of village life they want. Your job is to help someone run their own life, not to run a house.

Support is delivered to each member’s own plan and Roster of Care, so you know what the work is before you start a shift.

What you can expect from your Lead

  • Regular time with your Lead, not just when something has gone wrong.
  • Straight answers, including when the answer is no.
  • Backing when you hold a line for a member.
  • A standing invitation to challenge upward.

Your career

Where this can go, and how it works

Leadership here is grown from inside. Every Lead is measured on the leaders they develop, which means someone above you is already looking for the next person to back.

  1. Support worker

Serves: The members of your Family.

Support built around each member's own plan and Roster of Care, aimed at a bigger life, not just a safe one. You raise concerns early and they are treated as information, not a complaint.

  2. Family Support Lead

Serves: The support workers in your Family.

The first rung of leadership here, not a senior support worker with paperwork. You coach your Family, know each member's plan in real depth, and grow the next Lead.

  3. Village Service Lead

Serves: The Family Support Leads in your village.

You own a village end to end: member outcomes, your team, quality and safeguarding, roster integrity and the village's commercial health. Around fifty people, members and team together.

  4. Tribe Lead

Serves: The Village Service Leads in your tribe.

Four to six villages, around a hundred and fifty people. Not a layer above the villages, the foundation beneath them. Your most important work is developing leaders.

One line you rarely hear from an employer: your best people being promoted away from you is how we measure your success. New villages need Leads, and they come from the villages we already run.

Non negotiables

The standards that never move

We would rather you read these before you apply than discover them later. They are also what you can hold us to.

  • The member fit gate

No member moves into a village without a fit assessment and a capability plan the village owns. Occupancy pressure never moves that line, and you will not be asked to move it.

  • Funding integrity

We claim only for support that was actually delivered. The defensible number beats the larger number, every time.

  • Clinical calls belong to clinicians

Operational pressure never overrides a clinical or safeguarding decision. If the pressure is real, we put it on the table and work the problem together.

  • Safety comes before development

We coach rather than rescue, with one exception. If a member's safety, safeguarding or funding integrity is at risk, we step in straight away and coach afterwards.

Fit

What we look for

  • People who lead by serving.
  • People who name a problem out loud rather than smoothing it over.
  • People who put a member's interest ahead of a convenient answer.
  • For any Lead role, evidence that you have grown people who went on to bigger jobs.

Experience helps, but it is not the whole story. Some of our best support workers came from hospitality, retail or caring for someone in their own family.

What you will need

  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to apply for one.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • A driver licence for roles that include community access.
  • First aid and CPR, which we will help you keep current.

Tell us about yourself

Give us a call or fill out the form below, and someone from our people team will read it, not a filter.

Ask us anything about the roles, the training, the rosters or the villages. No application needed to have a conversation.

A phone number or an email address is enough, whichever suits you.

Paid work, volunteering, or supporting someone in your own family all count.
