The Vertical Village model
A Vertical Village is a group of homes in one building or one street, each one genuinely your own, close enough that the whole village can look out for anyone in it.
How it works
A small team of support workers anchored to you and a few neighbours, led by one person whose job is to know you best.
Members and staff together, enough people that someone who knows you is always around.
What is different
Your own kitchen, your own bathroom, your own living room, with your own front door.
Your support is rostered to your own NDIS plan or aged care package, by a small team who know you. It is your plan and your Roster of Care, not a building wide service level.
Rooftops, shared kitchens and celebrations are there when you want them, and your own space is there when you don't.
You can close your own door and step away whenever you want to, and so can everyone else in the village. Privacy and company are both yours to choose.

Connor's first move out of home felt cold and disconnected. In a Vertical Village he found his own space with a team and a community just outside his door. He is working locally, playing cricket on weekends and reconnecting with his mum.
