Welcome to Liverpool, a busy city on the south western edge of Sydney and home to one of our Vertical Villages. This neighbourhood guide is for anyone weighing up a move, so you can picture the life around the front door, not just the apartment behind it.

Liverpool is one of Sydney's most multicultural areas, with almost half of residents born overseas and large Indian, Lebanese and Italian communities. History buff, park lover or social butterfly, there is something here for you.

Fuel your day

Eating out in Liverpool means plenty of choice, from award winning restaurants to small cafes doing very good coffee.

  • The Macquarie Inn, a historic pub built in 1820, with classic pub meals and a solid tap list.
  • Giorgios on Macquarie, fresh seasonal Italian and Greek cooking. The spanakopita is worth the trip.
  • The Grounds of Alexandria in Liverpool, specialty coffee and a well known breakfast menu surrounded by greenery.

Get active

Liverpool has green space and sporting facilities close at hand.

  • Whitlam Leisure Centre, a fully accessible aquatic and fitness centre.
  • Liverpool Regional Park and Bigge Park, easy walking, picnics and open lawns.
  • The Georges River walking and cycling paths, flat and scenic.

Shop til you drop

  • Westfield Liverpool, a one stop centre for everything from fashion to a food court lunch.
  • Casula Power Centre, outlet shopping if you are after a bargain.
  • Liverpool Farmers Markets, every Saturday morning for fresh produce, bread and handmade goods.

Connect with your community

  • Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, exhibitions, performances and workshops in a striking converted power station.
  • Liverpool Library, fully accessible, with story time, author talks and book clubs.
  • Liverpool Regional Park events, open air concerts, movie nights, festivals and community barbecues through the year.

Events calendar

Liverpool runs a full calendar. Look out for EuroFest in May, NAIDOC celebrations in July, Starry Sari Nights in September, Primavera in November, Pasifika Summer at Macquarie Mall in November, and the Liverpool Garden Competition across the year. Liverpool City Council publishes exact dates on its events page.

Accessibility and local support

Liverpool City Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan notes that one in nineteen residents lives with a disability, and the city's accessible streets, parks and public facilities reflect that work. The council publishes a CBD mobility map and an accessible toilet and playground map, and can point you to local disability events and NDIS information.

A village in the middle of it all

Our Liverpool village is more than somewhere to live. Each member has their own apartment, with space for a partner, friend or family member if that suits.

Living areas and kitchens are generous and accessible, and wide doorways, ramps, accessible bathrooms and assistive technology mean everyone can use the whole home. The rooftop terrace, with views across the city, is where a lot of the shared life happens, from barbecues to birthdays.

Living beyond the apartment

Liverpool is a city community that reaches well past your own walls. Good food, plenty to do, transport that gets you places and support close by. If you would like to see the apartments and the neighbourhood for yourself, we are happy to arrange a look.
